NATIONAL ART GALLERY & ALEXANDROS SOUTSOS MUSEUM

The National Art Gallery is one of Greece’s main art institutions and features paintings and works of art from some of Greece’s and Europe’s best from the 19th and 20th centuries. ATHENS CITY MUSEUM

The Museum of the City of Athens, situated in Klafthmonos Square in two of the capital’s oldest and most beautiful buildings. The Museum’s collections of paintings, engravings, sculptures, pieces of furniture and important relics of Modern Greek History present a panorama of the evolution of Athens since the Frankish domination.

ANCIENT AGORA & TEMPLE OF HEPHAESTUS

On the west side of the Agora sits the Theseion, a temple dedicated to the god Hephaestus (whom the Romans called Vulcan), and commemorating the labors of Theseus (hence the name). It was built a few years before the Parthenon, and is substantially more complete.

ACROPOLIS MUSEUM

Acropolis Museum has a total area of 25,000 square meters, with exhibition space of over 14,000 square meters, ten times more than that of the old museum on the Hill of the Acropolis. The new Museum offers all the amenities expected in an international museum of the 21st century.
